BruNet Press Release
This
is to inform you that BruNet’s Internet Link to
USA has been unoperational since Thursday, 20
September 2001 at 1023hrs. The cause of this outage
is the cable fault at 1.44 km from Shantou Cable
Station in China. Due to this problem, our valued
BruNet customers will be experiencing problems
accessing and surfing Internet intermittently.
Our Internet Link to Singapore is still active
and BruNet customers may still be able to surf
Internet but they will experience slow in surfing
due to the overload in the other active link.
The recent outbreak of virus ‘Nimda’ is somehow
affected networks all over the world and BruNet
Network is no exception. This virus will attack
end users [BruNet customers] if preventions and
precautions are not taken seriously and quickly.
One of the steps to be taken is to upgrade your
Internet Explorer to its latest version 6. For
more information on this virus and software upgrade,
BruNet customers can go to www.microsoft.com.
